About The Owner
Darrell Watkins, X5 Sports Lab owner, has worked in the personal training industry over 17 years. He has been self-employed for 15 of his 17 years in the fitness industry. Darrell also built a high profile clientele including professional athletes & entertainers, prominent medical professionals, T.V. personalities, corporate owners and senior executives. Darrell is a former athlete at Colorado State University, participating in both football and track. He also spent 3 years training with the Denver Broncos. His collegiate and professional experiences formed his drive and passion for fitness. As a result his Personal Highlights are: helping athletes earn collegiate scholarships, weight loss transformations, improving the quality of life for those with physical challenges and more… Darrell provides his clients with Personal Training, Small Group Training, Speed, Agility & Strength Training for Kids and Indoor/Outdoor Boot Camps in Johns Creek. “Following the 5 components of fitness guarantees results; Strength, Cardiovascular, Flexibility, Nutrition and Testing, explains Darrell.”

I have been going to X5 Sports Lab | Sports Performance & Personal Training Studio, with Personal Trainer Darrell Watkins, for the last 6 years and I’m still loving it! When I first started going to Boot Camp my thought was it would just be for 3-4 months to kick start my workout routine. But once I realized the amount of strength and endurance I was gaining I couldn’t stop! No boot camp training workout is the same; featuring different combinations of cardio, strength and core training. Darrell does a great job motivating you to do your best and keeps pushing you to improve.
Most of all, having a group to train with adds extra encouragement. This weekend I had something that reminded me the reason I keep going back to X5. I played a singles tennis match against a tall lady with long skinny legs. My legs may not look like hers but I’m in 100 times better shape. After wearing her down the first set losing 5-7, I finally had an easy win at 6-1, 6-2. Then I proceeded to go to my mixed tennis match without concerns of being tired or winded.
